Each tournament increases in length and challenge—from the opening 360 qualifier to the NFAA 900 Target Round Finals. Review the format, preparation requirements, and competition standards below.
360 Round
- Six ends of six scoring arrows at one assigned distance
- Standard 10-ring target scoring with a maximum score of 360
- Recurve and Barebow use a 122 cm full target face
- Compound uses an 80 cm six-ring target face
- Completing this qualifier makes you eligible to compete for the Range Wars title on October 3
600 Target Round
- 20 arrows at each of three distances
- Four ends of five arrows at each distance
- Four minutes allowed per end
- Shoots from the closest distance to the farthest
- 122 cm multicolor target face with 10-through-1 scoring
- Completing this qualifier makes you eligible to compete for the Range Wars title on October 3
900 Target Round
- 30 arrows at each of three distances
- Five ends of six arrows at each distance
- Five minutes allowed per end
- Shoots from the farthest distance to the shortest
- 122 cm multicolor face with 10-through-1 scoring
360 Round Distances
All 36 scoring arrows are shot at the single distance shown for the archer's age group and equipment class.

600 & 900 Round Distances
The 600 Round progresses from the closest distance to the farthest. The 900 Round begins at the farthest distance and moves closer.

Competition Standards
Safety & Equipment
Archers are responsible for keeping equipment in safe working order and complying with the rules for their registered division and shooting style. NFAA competition limits peak draw weight to 80 pounds and arrow speed to 300 FPS, with a 3% variance.
Shooting Line
Archers must straddle the shooting line with one foot on each side. Follow all whistle commands. Two blasts call archers to the line, one starts shooting, three release the line to score, and four or more signal an emergency stop.
Scoring
An arrow touching a scoring line receives the higher value. Do not touch arrows or the target face until doubtful arrows have been ruled. Archers are responsible for confirming their scores and signing accurate scorecards before submission.
NFAA Finals Requirements
The October 3 NFAA Sectional requires separate online registration through NFAA Sport:80. Participants must be NFAA members in good standing, carry proof of membership, and complete both the official paper and electronic scoring requirements. NFAA-only archers may shoot the 900 Target Round without competing for the Range Wars title; title competitors must have completed at least one Range Wars qualifier.
